_ CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting April 08, 1960 10:00 Α.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor Miller presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Bechtol, Palmer, White, Mayor Miller Absent: Councilman Perry Present also: W. T. Williams, Jr., City Manager; Doren R. Eskew, City Attorney MAYOR MILLER announced that the Council was holding a hearing with TEXAS CENTRAL GAS COMPANY and INTRA-TEX GAS COMPANY; and that arrangements had been made to hear from SOUTHWEST GAS SUPPLY COMPANY, SOUTHERN UNION GAS COMPANY and UNITED. The following companies reviewed with the Council their proposals as bid and discussed with MR. RALPH E. DAVIS, Consultant, his report on the evaluation of their various bids: TEXAS CENTRAL GAS COMPANY, represented by Mr. DOWNING, Attorney; MR. SOL SMITH, Geologist; MR. KIRKPATRICK, Tulsa, Oklahoma; MR. RALPH PARKS, Austin; MR. REX CAMPBELL, Engineer and operator of one of the largest gas systems in the country; MR. OSCAR BURTON, Burton Construction Company, and MR. E. A. SMITH, President. INTRA-STATE GAS COMPANY, Mr. Clint Small, Attorney. COASTAL STATES GAS PRODUCING COMPANY, Mr. Will E. Odom, Petroleum Engineer. SOUTHWEST GAS SUPPLY COMPANY, Mr. Stanley E. Pyndus, President; Mr. Crady, Attorney. SOUTHERN UNION GAS COMPANY, Mr. Franklin Denius and Mr. Grenier, Attorneys; and representatives from UNITED. =CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MR. RALPH E. DAVIS, Consultant employed by the City of Austin to evaluate the bids, and MR. R. M. FALCONER, Associate, answered inquiries and discussed the bids as they had evaluated them.
