Miles, Chief of Police The Mayor and Council greeted students from the 7th Grade Social Studies Class from Allan Junior High School. After discussion, Councilman Bechtol moved to ask that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a new one-year lease at the rate of $200.00 a month on the Pitch and Putt Golf Course. The motion, seconded by Councilman Palmer, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Bechtol, Palmer, Perry, White, Mayor Miller Noes: None Before granting permission for the use of Zilker Park for the Scout Jamboree, members of the Council asked that Mr. Kent Rider come before the Council next week. The Assistant City Manager submitted another request for a Sunday dance at the Coliseum on May 1st. The promotor is getting a charter for a Spanish-American group. The Mayor suggested that nothing be done until the charter is obtained. __ CITY OF AUSTIN. TEXAS Pursuant to published notice thereof the following zoning applications were publicly heard: G. L. KINNEY, objected only to lowering a zone--not to a beauty parlor operation. MR. ANDERSON represented himself, and offered to file a letter stating if the property were not used for a beauty parlor, the zone would go back to "A" Residence. Those protesting asked that copies of this letter be sent to all that received letters of the zoning. Mayor Miller asked those who wished to grant the change to "B" Residence, subject to all qualifications and receipt of the letter, to vote "aye"; those opposed to vote "no".
