786 786 =CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting August 20, 1962 4:00 Ρ.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor Palmer presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Armstrong, Perry, Shanks, White, Mayor Palmer Absent: None Present also: W. T. Williams, Jr., City Manager; Doren R. Eskew, City Attorney; D. C. Kinney, Director of Electric Utility The Mayor announced this was a meeting called for the purpose of considering the draft of specifications for the natural gas fuel contract for the City of Austin Electrical Generating System. The City Manager stated an attempt had been made to put together a set of documents that would include the complete contract on which the supplier would provide gas to the City, listing the documents as Advertisement for Bids, Instructions to Bidders, Proposals, Bid Bond, Form of Agreement, Performance Bond, and General Requirements. He called attention to the two charts on page G-20 and G-21. The City Manager reviewed each paragraph in detail. Mr. Frank Erwin, representing Coastal States Gas Producing Company, discussed Item (c) Section VII. The Director of Electric Utilities stated he saw no need to change this. Mr. Don Higgins, Brown & Root, likewise saw no need to change this as the plants were designed to take care of the situations Mr. Erwin stated might occur. The City Manager stated the City Attorney was rewriting some of the pages, making no particular changes, but clarifying some of the wording. After discussion, Councilman White moved that the bidders be furnished copies of the specifications and that proper advertisement be made so that bids - CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS== 787 787 could be received on September 20, 1962. The motion, seconded by Councilman Shanks, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Armstrong, Perry, Shanks, White, Mayor Palmer Noes: None There being no further business, Councilman Armstrong moved that the Council adjourn.
