CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting September 15, 1962 12:00 Noon Council Chamber, City Hall 1051 The meeting was called to order with Mayor Palmer presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Armstrong, Perry, Shanks, White, Mayor Palmer Absent: None Present also: W. T. Williams, Jr., City Manager; Doren R. Eskew, City Attorney; D. C. Kinney, Director of Electric Utility The Mayor announced this was a Special Meeting called for the purpose of considering gas contract specifications for which bids are to be opened September 20, 1962. The City Council briefly discussed the question of sending out an addendum to the gas supply contract for the City Electric Plants, reaffirming the opinion of the Council that the minimum amount of capital needed to guarantee performance of the contract would be approximately $20,000,000, but allowing bidders to either furnish a certificate from a Certified Public Accountant showing such net worth or to furnish a commitment from a surety company that the company would issue a six percent supply bond. The Council reviewed in detail the provisions of the Addendum No. 3. Councilman White moved that the City Manager be authorized to send Addendum No. 3 to each of the prospective bidders. The motion, seconded by Councilman Shanks, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Armstrong, Perry, Shanks, White, Mayor Palmer Noes: None There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 1:30 P.M., subject to the call of the Mayor.
