=CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting March 22, 1963 10:00 Α.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor Palmer Palmer presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Armstrong, Shanks, White, Mayor Palmer Absent: Councilman Perry The Mayor announced this meeting was called for the purpose of passing an ordinance appointing election judges and clerks to serve at the various polling places at the Council Election, April 6, 1963. Mayor Palmer introduced the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES AND CLERKS TO SERVE AT THE VARIOUS POLLING PLACES IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN AT THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN ON APRIL 6, 1963; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman White moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance passed to its second reading. The motion, seconded by Councilman Shanks, carried by the following vote: Councilmen Armstrong, Shanks, White, Mayor Palmer Ayes: Noes: None Absent: Councilman Perry The ordinance was read the second time and Councilman White moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance passed to its third reading. seconded by Councilman Shanks, carried by the following vote: The motion, Ayes: Noes: Councilmen Armstrong, Shanks, White, Mayor Palmer None Absent: Councilman Perry The ordinance was read the third time and Councilman White moved that the ordinance be finally passed.
