=CITY OF AUSTIN. TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting January 08, 1965 10:30 Α.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor Palmer presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen LaRue, Long, Mayor Palmer Absent: Councilmen Shanks, White Present also: W. T. Williams, Jr., City Manager; Doren R. Eskew, City Attorney MAYOR PALMER announced this was a Special Meeting of the City Council of Austin, called for the purpose of reviewing the Workable Program and setting a meeting for Friday January 15, 1965, 7:30 P.M. with the Citizens Committee for Community Improvement, in the City Council Chamber. The Council discussed the report previously given by the Planning Director and noted special items especially desired to be brought before the Council's attention, having to do with phrasing of some of the items listed in the Workable Program, and further noted that the Workable Program must have the approval of the governing body. Councilman Long moved that the Council adopt the Workable Program as outlined and presented to the Council by the City Administration. The motion, seconded by Councilman LaRue, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Noes: Councilmen LaRue, Long, Mayor Palmer None Absent: Councilmen Shanks, White Mayor Palmer asked that the Council be submitted a list of the duties and the scope of the work of this Citizens Committee for Community Improvement. CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS January 8, 1965 Councilman LaRue moved that a meeting of this Committee be called for Friday, January 15, 1965, 7:30 P.M. in the City Council Chamber. The motion, seconded by Councilman Long, carried by the following vote: Councilmen LaRue, Long, Mayor Palmer Ayes: Noes: None Absent: Councilmen Shanks, White There being no further business, Councilman LaRue moved that the Council adjourn.
