ZONING HEARING Mayor Palmer announced that it was 10:00 A.M. and the Council would hear the zoning cases scheduled for public hearing at this time. Gilbert Survey, the C. J. April 20, 1967 -CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS The motion, seconded by Councilman Long, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen LaRue, Long, Shanks, White, Mayor Palmer Noes: None SALE OF URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY LOT Councilman LaRue offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption: (RESOJUTION) WHEREAS, on April 4, 1967, the Board of Commissioners of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Austin adopted Resolution Number 60-67, by which the Board accepted the bid of Raymond Minter, Jr. and wife Mary L. Minter for the purchase of parcel R-14(5), a tract of land situated in the Kealing Urban Renewal Project No. Tex. R-20 and more particularly described in said Resolution; and, WHEREAS, said Resolution Number 60-67, as an official action of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Austin, is a public record on file in the office of said Agency at 614 West 6th Street, and said Resolution is incorporated herein by reference for all purposes; and, WHEREAS- an executed copy of said Resolution was forwarded to the City Council on the 12th day of April, 1967 by the Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Agency for approval of the price and conditions of the proposed sale of said property; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds nothing objectionable concerning the price and conditions of said bid as submitted, and the recommendation of said Urban Renewal Agency Board as contained in said Resolution Number 60-67; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN That the price and conditions set forth in the Bid of Raymond Minter, Jr. and wife Mary L. TAXICAB FRANCHISE HEARING Mayor Palmer opened the public hearing scheduled for this time on a taxicab franchise for Mr. Sabatino Sconci for the ABC Cab Company located at 10th and Red River. Attorney Bradley Bourland, representing the ABC Cab Company, and Frank Denius of Clark, Thomas, Harris, Denius and Winters, representing Roy's Taxicab Company, appeared before the Council to argue the merits and demerits of the franchise. After a considerable amount of discussion, Councilman Long moved the Council close the public hearing and deny the request for a taxicab franchise for Mr. Sabatino Sconci for the ABC Cab Company. Wilson, the special attorney previously employed by the City to prosecute its anti-trust claims for damages growing out of purchases of aluminum conductor cable, be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to compromise and settle the City's said claims for a total recovery of notless than $91,270.00. _ CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS April 20, 1967 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said James W.
