The Federal Government wage scale included in the bids expires at midnight tonight; however, if the contract were awarded today, it would include the wage scales as of this date. Bids had been taken, and the contract is ready to be awarded. noted the City estimate on this work was $159,000, and the low bid was $124,717. After discussion, Councilman Janes offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: (RESOLUTION) He WHEREAS, bids were received by the City of Austin on September 13, 1967, for the construction of 2616 feet of concrete sanitary sewer line along Lake Austin from West 35th Street to the Taylor Slough Lift Station; and, WHEREAS, the bid of Payne & Keller, Incorporated, in the sum of $124,717.00, was the lowest and best bid therefor and the acceptance of such bid has been recommended by the Director of Water and Sewer Department of the City ofAustin and by the City Manager; Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the bid of Payne & Keller, Incorporated, in the sum of $124,717.00, be and the same is hereby accepted, and that R. M. Tinstman, City Manager of the City of Austin, be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City, with Payne & Keller, Incorporated, subject to approval by the Federal Water Pollution Control Administration. The motion, seconded by Councilman Janes, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Mayor Akin, Councilmen Janes, LaRue, Long, Nichols Noes: None ATTEST: The Council adjourned this meeting and went into Executive Session.
