New Austin Judges and Key Board Members Appointed

=CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting February 23, 1968 3:30 Ρ.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor Akin presiding. Roll call: Present: Absent: Councilmen Janes, LaRue, Long, Nichols, Mayor Akin None MAYOR AKIN announced this Special Meeting of the Austin City Council was called for the purpose of appointing the Corporation Court Judges, and for making other appointments. Councilman Janes moved the Council appoint MR. ROY Y. MARTIN, Presiding Judge, Corporation Court, at an annual salary of $14,000; and MR. DALE O. JOHNSON, Associate Judge of the Corporation Court, at an annual salary of $12,500. The motion, seconded by Councilman Long, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Mayor Akin, Councilmen Janes, LaRue, Long, Nichols Noes: None Councilman Nichols moved the Council extend to the Bar Association its thanks and its heart-felt appreciation in their efforts in helping the Council by providing names from which the Council selected the City Judges, and that a letter of appreciation be written to them. The motion, seconded by Councilman Long, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Mayor Akin, Councilmen Janes, LaRue, Long, Nichols Noes: None The Committee from the Travis County Bar Association consisted of the following: MR. DON L. BAKER, Chairman MR. CHARLES R. BURTON MR. E. RICHARD CRISS, JR. MR. ROBERT D. JONES MR. ROBERT C. McCREARY CITY OF AUSTIN. TEXAS _ February 23, 1968 Councilman Janes moved MRS. T. J. HEMPHILL be appointed to the Library Board.
