=CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS.-==:--.-==.= MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting March 21, 1974 11:00 A.M. LCRA Building Board Room 3700 Lake Austin Boulevard The meeting was called to order with Mayor Butler presiding. Roll Call: Present: Mayor Butler, Mayor Pro Tern Love, Councilmen Dryden, Llandcox, Lebermann Absent: Councilmen Binder, Friedman The Mayor announced that this was a Special Called Meeting of the City Council for the purpose of publicly announcing that during the Meeting it would convene in a closed or executive session authorized by Section 2, Paragraph (f) of Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, for the purpose of receiving the Bechtol Power Corporation preliminary site study for the joint LCRA-Austin coal fired facility; and after such closed or executive session, any final action, decision or vote with regard to any matter considered in the closed or executive session would be made in open session, should such action, decision or vote be necessary. The Mayor announced that the Council would go into executive session at this time to consider the items authorized in Section 2, Paragraph (f) of Article 6252-17. The Council convened in open session. Present: Mayor Butler, Mayor Pro Tern Love, Councilmen Dryden, Handcox, Lebermann Absent: Councilmen Binder, Friedman Mayor Pro Tern Love moved that the Council accept the recommendation of the Bechtol Power Corporation and authorized the acquisition of the Cedar Creek site for the joint LCRA-City of Austin coal fired electric facility and instructed the staff to pursue the location of a future plant site in the Bastrop County area. The motion, seconded by Councilman Lebermann, carried by the following vote: =--- CITY OF AUSTIN. TFYA^ - March_21, 197.1, Ayes: Mayor Butler, Mayor Pro Tern Love, Councilmen Dryden, Handcox, Leberrnann Noes: None Absent: Councilmen Binder, Friedman After further discussion with members of the LCRA Board and an indication of the desire of the LCRA Board not to act on the second portion of the motion, Mayor Pro Tern Love moved that the Council reconsider its action and adopt the portion to include only the selection of the Cedar Creek site at this time. The motion, seconded by Councilman Lebermann, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Mayor Pro Tern Love, Councilmen Dryden, Handcox, Lebermann, Mayor Butler Noes: None Absent: Councilmen Binder, Friedman ADJOURNMENT The Council adjourned the Special Called Meeting.
