sClTY OF AUSTIN. TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting August 16, 1976 10:00 A.M. Council Chambers 301 West Second Street The meeting was called to order with Mayor Pro Tern Snell presiding. Roll Call: Present: Mayor Pro Tern Snell, Counciltaembers Himmelblau, Hofmann, Linn, Trevino Absent: Mayor Friedman, Councilmember Lebermann CANVASS OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION The Councillhad before it the canvassing of the results of the Special Municipal Electtin held on August 14, 1976. The following precincts were reviewed; Councilmember Himmelblau - Precinct 242 - Okay. Councilmember Linn - Precinct 422 - Okay. Councilmember Hofmann - Precinct 241 - Okay. Councilmember Trevino - Precinct 329 - It was noted that there was a discrepancy of one ballot. 563 persons were listeddon the poll list as having voted and 564 votes were counted. Mayor Pro Tern Snell - Precinct 233 - Okay. Councilmember Linn moved that the Council adopt a resolution verifying the results of the Special Municipal Election held on August 14, 1976. The motion,.-seconded by Councilmember Trevino, carried by the following vote: AyesJ Mayor Pro Tern Snell, Councilmembers Himmelblau, Hofmann, Linn, Trevino Noes! None Absent; Mayor Friedman, Councilmember Lebermann =CITY OF AUSTIN. TEXAS August 16. 1976 PROPOSITION Shall the City Council of the City of Austin be authorized to sell the entire undivided interest of the City of Austin in the South Texas Project for an amount not less than the City's accrued cost, including interest? Votes For: Votes Against! 7,092 21,730 BIDS TO BE PLACED ON AGENDA Mayor Pro Tern Snell noted that the bids which had been received on selling the City's share of the South Texas Project would be placed on the Agenda for August 19, 1976, for rejection of all proposals.
