TEXAS= = MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Called Council Meeting October 16, 1978 5:00 P.M. 124 West 8th Street The meeting was called to order with Mayor McClellan presiding. Roll Call: Present: Mayor McClellan, Mayor Pro Tern Cooke, Councilmembers Mullen, Himmelblau, Snell, Trevino Absent: Councilmember Goodman Mayor McClellan opened the Special Called Meeting on changing the date for the Council work session on the South Texas Project and Energy Generation Plan and the Third reading of the Ordinance on Southern Union Gas Company's rate increase. The Council considered changing the date previously set for Friday, November 10, 1978 at 3:00 P.M. for the Council work session on the South Texas Project and Energy Generation Plan. After discussion, the Council changed the time from 3:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., but left the date as November 10th. Moti on Mayor McClellan brought up the following ordinance for its third reading: AN ORDINANCE REVISING THE RATE SCHEDULES CONTAINED IN THE ORDER OF THE RAILROAD COMMISSION OF TEXAS IN GAS UTILITIES DOCKET NO. 827 FOR NATURAL GAS SOLD BY SOUTHERN UNION GAS COMPANY WITHIN THE CITY OF AUSTIN; DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE TO BE A FINAL DETERMINATION OF RATES; REQUIRING ACCEPTANCE OF THE RATES PRESCRIBED HEREIN BY SOUTHERN UNION GAS COMPANY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. October 16, 1978 =CITY OF AUSTIN. TEXAS= ' The ordinance was read the third time, and Mayor Pro Tern Cooke moved that the ordinance be finally passed. The motion, seconded by Councilmember Mullen, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmembers Hitnmelblau, Mullen, Mayor McClellan, Mayor Pro Cooke Noes: Councilmembers Snell, Trevino Absent: Councilmember Goodman The Mayor announced that the ordinance had been finally passed.
