TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Called Council Meeting February 18, 1980 12:00 Noon Council Chambers 301 West Second Street The meeting was called to order with Mayor McClellan presiding. Roll Call: Present: Mayor McClellan, Councilmembers Cooke, Goodman, Himmelblau, Mayor Pro Tern Mullen, Councilmembers Snell, Trevino Absent: None Mayor McClellan stated that this was a Special Called Meeting for the purpose of publicly announcing that the Council would convene in a closed or executive session authorized by Section 2, Paragraph (g) of Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to interview applicants for Municipal Court Judges. After such closed or executive session, any final action, decision or vote with regard to any matter considered in the closed or executive session be made in open session should such action, decision or vote be necessary for the appointment of Municipal Court Judges. The Council went into executive session immediately, and after reconvening in open session, the following motion was made: =CITY OF AUSTIN. TEXA. February 18, 1980 Motion Mayor Pro Tern Mullen moved that the Council appoint Stephen W. Russell as Presiding Judge for a term of two years, reappoint Harriett Murphy and David Phillips for terms of two years and appoint Cleve Moten for a term of two years. The motion, seconded by Councilmember Goodman, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Mayor McClellan, Councilmembers Cooke, Goodman, Himmelblau, Mayor Pro Tern Mullen, Councilmembers Snell, Trevino Noes: None ADJOURNMENT The Council adjourned its meeting at 3:50 p.m. APPROV vMayor ATTEST: City Clerk
