First Floor Conference Room 124 West Eighth Street The meeting was called to order with Mayor Pro Tem Trevino presiding. Roll Call: Present: Mayor McClellan, Councilmembers Cooke, Goodman, Himmelblau, Mullen, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino Absent: None REVISED APPROACH MAIN COSTS Councilmember Cooke moved that the Council approve revised approach main costs (Maple Run, Bill Milburn, Inc.) reflecting a $50,000 to $80,000 Increase due to requirement of two (2) pumping units instead of one (1), and a repayment to the applicant for the additional cost. The motion, seconded by Councilmember Himmelblau, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Mayor Pro Tem Trevino, Mayor McClellan, Councilmembers Cooke, Noes: Himmelblau, Mullen None Not in Council Chamber when roll was called: Councilmember Goodman Prior to the vote Councilmember Himmelblau asked for an explanation of where the money was coming from. Mr. Bulloch, Director of Water and Wastewater explained the approval. ! May 8, 1981 _ CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS AMENDMENT TO APPROACH MAIN RESOLUTIONS Councilmember Mullen moved that the Council adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the Village at Western Oaks Main Resolutions, as adopted by Council on January 15, 1981. The motion, seconded by Councilmember Himmelblau, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Mayor McClellan, Councilmembers Cooke, Himmelblau, Mullen, Noes: None Mayor Pro Tem Trevino Not in Council Chamber when roll was called: Councilmember Goodman Mr. Bulloch explained the amendment by use of map. There will be no additional cost to the City. INTERVENOR STATUS Councilmember Cooke moved that the Council adopt a resolution to formally request that the Council of Austin be granted intervenor status in the Civil Aeronautics Board process dealing with the merger of Continental Airlines and Texas International Airlines. The motion, seconded by Councilmember Himmelblau, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmembers Cooke, Goodman, Himmelblau, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino Noes: Councilmember Mullen Abstain: Mayor McClellan Councilmember Cooke said it is not Council's business to determine what happens between Texas International Airlines and Continental Airlines because that is a process of the free enterprise system. He said they should know, though, how the merger would effect the City of Austin transportatiónwise. Mr. Jerry Harris determined what would be proper and Councilmember Cooke said the draft resolution presents a letter telling them the City wants to know what is happening. : LEGISLATURE SUPPORT Councilmember Himmelblau moved that the Council adopt a resolution in support of H.B. 1334 and S.B. 1173 relating to state funding for family violence shelters. The motion, seconded by Mayor McClellan, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmembers Cooke, Goodman, Himmelblau, Mayor Pro Tem Noes: None Trevino, Mayor McClellan Abstain: Councilmember Mullen May 8, 1981 - CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS LAKE AUSTIN MORATORIUM AMENDMENT Mayor McClellan introduced the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCES NOS. 810122-K, 810129-L AND 810416-8 (THE LAKE AUSTIN SHORELINE SUBDIVISION MORATORIUM); EXEMPTING THEREFROM THE COLORADO CROSSING SUBDIVISION (SUBDIVISION CASE NO. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor McClellan announced that Council will now go into-executive session for the purpose of publicly announcing that it will convene in a closed or executive session authorized by Section 2, Paragraphs (e), (f) and (g) of Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and after such closed or executive session any final action, decision or vote with regard to any matter considered in the closed or executive session would be made in open session, should such action, decision or vote be necessary. Mayor McClellan announced that the Council would to into executive session at this time to consider the items authorized in Section 2, Paragraphs (e), (f) and (g) of Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated.
