CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSITN, TEXAS Special Emergency Council Meeting May 22, 1981 10:00 Α.Μ. First Floor Conference Room 124 West Eighth Street The meeting was called to order with Mayor McClellan presiding. Roll Call: Present: Mayor McClellan, Councilmembers Cooke, Goodman, Himmelblau, Mullen, Urdy, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino Absent: None SELECTION OF A CITY MANAGER Councilmembers discussed the beginning of meetings and said any Councilmembers not present when the meeting is called to order shall be noted as absent in the Minutes. When they enter late in the Council Chamber, their time of entrance shall be noted in the Minutes. This was unanimously agreed upon. Mayor McClellan announced this is an Emergency Special Called Council Meeting for the purpose of deciding on procedure for process of selecting the next City Manager. She referred to a memo which she had given to each Councilmember. Mayor McClellan stated a professional firm should be used in the search and recruitment of a new City Manager and reviewed the time table. They all agreed on the time table. Councilmember Duncan thought they should include nominees suggested by the citizens.
