CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Emergency Special Called Council Meeting October 31, 1981 4:00 Ρ.Μ. Council Chambers 301 West Second Street The meeting was called to order with Mayor McClellan presiding. Roll Call: Present: Mayor McClellan, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino, Councilmembers Deuser, Duncan, Urdy, Mullen, Goodman Absent: None Mayor McClellan announced that Council will convene in a closed or executive session authorized by Section 2, Paragraph (g) of Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, for the purpose of selecting a City Manager; and after such closed or executive session, any final action, decision or vote with regard to any matter considered in the closed or executive session will be made in open session, should such action, decision or vote be necessary. Mayor McClellan announced that the Council would go into executive session at this time to consider the items authorized in Section 2, Paragraph (g) of Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated. October 31, 1981 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS RECESS Council recessed its meeting for the Executive Session at 4:11 p.m. and resumed its recessed meeting at 5:00 p.m. CITY MANAGER NAMED Mayor McClellan announced it is the unanimous decision of the Council to appoint Mr. Nicholas Meiszer as City Manager, effective November 30, 1981. His salary will be $69,500 annually. Motion Councilmember Duncan moved that the Council approve the appointment of Mr. Nicholas Meiszer City Manager, effective November 30, 1981 at an annual salary of $69,500. The motion, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Trevino, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Mayor McClellan, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino, Councilmembers Deuser, Duncan, Goodman, Mullen, Urdy Noes: None ADJOURNMENT Council adjourned its meeting at 5:02 p.m. APPROVED Mayor ATTEST: Grace Momor City Clerk
