Austin City Council MINUTES For January 18, 1982 10:00 Α.Μ. - SPECIAL CALLED COUNCIL MEETING Council Chambers, 301 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: City Council Carole Keeton McClellan Mayor John Treviño, Jr. Mayor Pro Tem Council Members Larry Deuser Roger Duncan Richard Goodman Ron Mullen Charles E. Urdy Nicholas M. Meiszer City Manager Grace Monroe City Clerk Mayor McClellan called to order the Special Called Meeting of the Council for the purpose of canvassing the returns and adoption of Resolution declaring the results of the January 16, 1982 Special Municipal Election, at 10:03 A.M., noting the absence of Councilmembers" Duncan, Deuser, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino, Councilmembers Goodman and Urdy. Mayor McClellan announced business could not be conducted until a quorum was present. Councilmember Duncan entered the Council Chamber at 10:05; Councilmember Deuser at 10:20. Councilmember Goodman was absent due to 111ness. The Council Meeting began at 10:20 A.M. Mayor McClellan asked if there were any frregularities in the election procedures. Mr. Barho, Judge, Central Counting Station, reported there were no irregularities, other than the usual few discrepancies in the sign-in sheets and transmittal, He said everything was on schedule, The Council then proceeded to canvass the returns.and reported as follows: Mayor McClellan Precinct 235 Okay Precinct 234 Okay Precinct 236 Okay Councilmember Duncan Precinct 233 Okay Councilmember Mullen Precinct 243 Okay Councilmember Duncan Precinct 334 Okay Coanctlmember Mullen Precinct 421 Okay Councilmember Duncan Precinct 346 Mr. Barho stated they tabulated the precinct times and concluded three voters probably did not sign the poll list. discrepancy of 3 votes the precinct three : Council Memo 2 January 18, 1982 CANVASSING - (Continued) 1 Albert DeLaRosa, Acting City Attorney Precinct 420 Okay Councilmember Mullen Precinct 422 Okay Councilmember Duncan Precinct 325 discrepancy of City Manager Meiszer Counc11member Deuser Motion two votes, Judge Barho said he cannot explain the difference.
