Spaeth Charles E. Urdy Jorge Carrasco City Manager Elden Aldridge City Clerk Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Mullen called to order the Special Called Meeting of the Council, scheduled for 7:30 a.m., noting the absence of Councilmembers Duncan and Urdy. Mayor Mullen announced the purpose of the meeting was to consider an ordinance on a moratorium on the further issuance of billboard permits. Lonnie Davis, Building Inspector, reviewed the problem for the Council. After a brief discussion, the Council, on Mayor Pro Tem Trevino's motion, Councilmember Spaeth's second, waived the requirement for three readings and finally passed an ordinance establishing a temporary 90 day moratorium on the issuance of permits for billboards and other permanent off-premise signs. (5-0 Vote, Councilmembers Duncan and Urdy absent) ADJOURNMENT The Council adjourned at 7:40 a.m.
