WATER CONSERVATION AND LANDSCAPE ORDINANCESMayor Mullen and Councilmember Rose introduced an item to Council to consider the Water Conservation Ordinance and the Landscape Ordinance. Councilmember Rose said he wanted to mention something which was not noted in the discussion last week concerning the Water Conservation Ordinance. "We have the flexibility under the Landscape Ordinance to waive the requirement for someone to put in a yard. If Council Memo ORDINANCES - (Continued) 10 8/9/84 they post a fiscal on it then they do not have to put in a yard during the period of mandatory water conservation unless they so choose. When we granted the exemptions the other day it really did not have anything to do with the housing industry. If they choose not to put in their yards, they do not have to. I anticipate in the very near future we can go off the mandatory water conservation program. It is important for the Council to recognize, prior to that, that this is the first year we've had to use the mandatory water conservation ordinance......" McCutchen from the assessment of lot cleaning cost, pursuant to Section 6-9-28 of the Austin City Code. Dr. Randall, Dirctor of Public Health, reviewed. Motion The Council, on Mayor Pro Tem Trevino's motion, Mayor Mullen's second, closed the public hearing. (7-0 Vote) No further action was taken, therefore appeal was denied. PUBLIC HEARING - APPEAL DENIED Mayor Mullen opened the public hearing set for 6:00 p.m. on an appeal from Mr. Bob Howerton of the Planning Commission's decision in regard to Special Permit No. C14p-84-037.
