Urdy Jorge Carrasco City Manager Elden Aldridge City Clerk Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the meeting of the Council scheduled for 1:00 p.m., noting the absence of Councilmembers Urdy and Shipman. The Mayor announced the purpose of the meeting was to have a 1:00 p.m. hearing on social and cultural agency contracts, recess the meeting at 4:00p.m. for a work session and resume the special called meeting for an executive session. PUBLIC HEARING - SOCIAL AND CULTURAL AGENCY CONTRACTS Several people appeared before Council to talk about the social service agency they represented and to either make further requests or to thank the Council for help they have already received and hope to receive in the future. Councilmember Urdy entered the Council Chamber at 6:00p.m. : EXECUTIVE SESSION : Mayor Cooksey announced Council would go into Executive Session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss the following matters; and action, if any, on the matters will be taken during the public meeting after the conclusion of the executive session: a. Pending Litigation, including but not limited to: (1) Houston Lighting and Power Company, et al v. Brown and Root, et al in Matagorda County, and City of Austin vs. Houston Lighting and Power Company in Travis County Section 2, Paragraph e. (2) United South Austin vs. City of Austin - Section 2, Paragraph e. RECESS AND ADJOURNMENT Council recessed its meeting at 6:45 p.m. for executive session and adjourned its meeting at 9:40 p.m.
