SPECIAL CALLED MEETING DECEMBER 16, 1985 CANVASSING OF RESULTS OF MUNICIPAL BOND ELECTION Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmembers Carl-Mitchell, Humphrey and Shipman. The Mayor noted the purpose of the meeting was for canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the December 14, 1986 Municipal Bond Election. Jeff Gunter, Presiding Judge, Central Counting Station, stated everything went smoothly and "we were out early". Mayor Cooksey expressed thanks for the judge's work. Motion Mayor Pro Tem Trevino made a motion to adopt a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the December 14, 1985 Municipal Bond Election. Councilmember Urdy seconded the motion. Motion passed by a 4-0 Vote, with Councilmembers Carl-Mitchell, Humphrey and Shipman absent.) SECTION 2: It is further found and determined that the results of the election as canvassed and tabulated in the preamble hereof reflect the expressed desires of those persons voting at said election. SECTION 3: That a majority of the resident qualified electors voting at said election having voted in favor of Propositions Numbers 1-16, the City Council of said City is authorized and empowered to issue bonds on behalf of said City in the amounts and for the purposes prescribed in Propositions Numbers 1-16 in the proceedings calling the election.
