Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas City Council Memorandum To: Frank C.Cooksey Mayor John Treviño, Jr. Mayor Pro Tem Council Members Mark Rose Smoot Carl-Mitchell Sally Shipman George Humphrey Charles E. Urdy Jorge Carrasco City Manager Elden Aldridge City Clerk Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Mayor Pro Tem Trevino and Councilmember Rose. BANNER ON CONGRESS AVENUE DENIED The Council, on Councilmember Shipman's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, DENIED the request to suspend the effect of Chapter 13-13-26 of the City Code on January 7, through January 12, 1986 to allow a banner to be placed across Congress at 7th Street. (3-2 Vote, Mayor Cooksey and Councilmember Humphrey voted No.) banner. Staff is to find an alternate location for the EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooksey announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No official action of the City Council will be taken on any of these matters unless such item is specifically listed: a. b. - Board & Commission Appointments Section 2, Paragraph g. Pending Litigation, including but not limited to City of Austin vs, Houston Lighting and Power Company in Travis County Section 2, Paragraph e. - Council recessed for executive session and adjourned its meeting when finished with the session.
