Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmember Humphrey. City Manager reports were given. Jim Thompson, Director of Water and Wastewater, reported on Travis Water Control and Improvements District #12. Mr. Thompson also reported on Wastewater Needs of the St. Edwards University Area, as well as the Bi-Weekly Wastewater Report. A work session was held on budget priorities with discussion centering on the library. David Earl Holt, director of the Austin Public Library system, answered Council's questions. Mayor Cooksey discussed his conversation of that morning with a man from Sweden concerning waste to energy facility being considered by the City. Mayor Cooksey announced Council would enter into Executive Session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss board and commission appointments - Section 2, Paragraph g.; land acquisition Section 2, Paragraph g, Town Lake Parkland, Electric Utility Leases and Laguna Gloria Site; and pending litigation, including but not limited to Hyde Park - the following item Baptist Church. - Section 2, Paragraph e - Council recessed for executive session at 5:45 p.m. and resumed its recessed meeting at 6:50 p.m. in order to adjourn.
