Urdy Jorge Carrasco City Manager Elden Aldridge City Clerk Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the presence of all Councilmembers. Mayor Cooksey announced the purpose of the meeting is to hold a public hearing on Community Schools. Bob Tintsman discussed the joint use of schools. Pat Otis said community schools reduce delinquency, stablizes property values and increases job skills. The following people spoke in favor of community school funding: Tony DeLeon, Ramone Deoleana, Avilla deCastro, Maria Martinez, Allison Ryan, Dick Todd, Michael Albrecht, Betty Jo Meyer, Melinda Romero, Melanie Melowitz, Linda Landow, Mary Ann Longnecker, Sharon Cabe, Don Ulrich, Mark Bachelder, Charles Rachenbarr, Robert S. Fignon, Johnny Cavenaugh, Rupert Reyes, Helen Hill, Robert Zerpoley, Joe Green, Betty Edgmon, Gayle Gimberling, Ozwaldo Velasquez, Ora Shaty, Shirley Duggan, Sharon Coffey, William Dick, Sam Griswold, Frank Cobb, Phillipa Cobb, Vadrie Tavashin, Don Lancaster, Debbie Calhoun, Monica Lopez, Carol Deuser, Larry Deuser, Peter Van Golberan, Manuel Navarro, Thomas Esparza, Joan Porter, Chirise Comp, Ginger Hensel, David Parker, Guadalupe Ferris.
