AUST FOUNDED 1839 Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING - January 27, 1987 - 3:00p.m. City Council Frank C. Cooksey Mayor John TreviƱo, Jr. Mayor Pro Tem Council Members Mark Rose Smoot Carl-Mitchell Sally Shipman George Humphrey Charles E. Urdy Jorge Carrasco City Manager Elden Aldridge. City Clerk Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the presence of all Councilmembers. WORK SESSION Council held a discussion during their work session on the Legislative Agenda. Motion Councilmember Rose made a motion, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Trevino to approve the four priorities as follows and incorporate these as recommended and monitor the subject further. (6-0 Vote, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell out of the room) (1) The passage of legislation resolving the electric utility issue, to be accomplished through the vehicle of a Senate Concurrent Resolution, SCR 13 by Henderson. (2) Legislation which will seek to resolve the limited purpose annexation issue. (3) The seeking of a legislative resolution to the question of the use of state lands within Austin's City limits. (4) The fourth priority is a general statement regarding the Council's desire to support full funding for state government, because it so directly affects Austin. Council also wishes to provide support to the continuation of programs and development at the University of Texas. Council Memo 2 1/27/87 Discussion of 6th Street Safety Issues was postponed until February 3, 1987. ELECTRIC RATES The Council, on Mayor Pro Tem Trevino's motion, Councilmember Urdy's second, adopted a resolution approving the agreement with the State Purchasing and General Services Commission concerning electric rates and service to State accounts. (6-0 Vote, Councilmember CarlMitchell out of the room) CITY MANAGER REPORTS City Manager reports were presented on Austin Transportation Study and Austin Metropolitan Area Roadway Plan; Five Year Financial Forecast Assumptions; and Hydrilla Issues.
