SPECIAL CALLED MEETING - APRIL 14, 1987 4TH FLOOR AUDITORIUM OF THE CENTRAL LIBRARY Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmembers Rose and Urdy. CITY MANAGER REPORTS City Manager Carrasco discussed the $10.6 million shortfall in the City budget in his Budget Update report. Members of the hospital staff and members of the Hospital Board reported on Rehabilitation Hospital at Brackenridge. WORK SESSION RESCHEDULED The work session as a joint meeting with the Electric Utility Commission was withdrawn and will be rescheduled at a later date. BUDGET AMENDMENT POSTPONED Council considered amending the 1986-87 annual operating budget by appropriating an additional $30,000 to the Parks and Recreation Department for the Zilker summer musical. Staff did not have the information Council asked for so it will be discussed at a later date. BOARD & COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS The Council, on Councilmember. Shipman's motion, Mayor Cooksey's second, appointed Beverly Scarbrough as a member of the Cable Commission. (5-0 Vote, Councilmembers Rose and Urdy absent) C Council Memo 2 4/14/87 The Council, on Councilmember Shipman's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, appointed Ronya Kozmetsky, Dr. Marian Monroe, Bon Busbey, Libby Doggett, Michaelyn Saukel and Jeannette Watson as members of the Child Care Commission. (5-0 Vote, Councilmembers Rose and Urdy absent) EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooksey announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No final action, decision or vote by the City Council will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically Lly listed on the agenda for this meeting. - Land Acquisition Section 2, Paragraph f (a) Municipal Office Consolidation RECESS AND ADJOURNMENT Council recessed its meeting at 4:30 for executive session and adjourned its meeting at 5:30 p.m.
