STOFAUSTIN FOUNDID SAS Austin City Council MINUTES For May 19, 1987 - 3:00 Ρ.Μ. Council Chambers. 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmember Humphrey. CITY MANAGER REPORTS Town Lake Master Plan report was presented by Mr. Jordan and staff members of PARD by means of a slide presentation. Libby Watson gave the Community Education report. Discussion of overlapping of community schools and recreation center classes was held. Mayor Pro Tem Trevino said Council faces this dilemma every year and the support may not be as strong this year. He said the City may do community recreation and let AISD do community education. Paula Phillips discussed McKinney Meadows with a review of the land use plan. WORKSESSION A worksession was held on Westlake Hills truck routes. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooksey announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated to discuss the following. No final action will be taken by Council except in open meeting. 1. Pending Litigation Section 2, Paragraph e (a) City of Austin v. Houston Lighting & Power; 2. Land Acquistion Section 2, Paragraph f (b) Municipal Office Complex. - RECESS & ADJOURNMENT - - Council recessed their meeting at 6:05 p.m. and adjourned the meeting at 6:30 p.m. No action was taken by Council. 1
