YO 目 AUSTI FOUNDED 1839 Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING - JUNE 30, 1987 - 3:00 Ρ.Μ. Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: ว Mayor Cooksey called to order the Special Called meeting of the Council, noting the presence of all Councilmembers. WORKSESSION Council held a worksession on Clarification of Peer Panel Reviews. Several people spoke, including Casey Draper, Albert Via, Al Fairweather, Jim Williams, Pat Jasper, Chris Cowden and Angelo Zatarelli. Motion The Council, on Mayor Cooksey's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, voted their intent to adopt a clarification ordinance when the item is posted. (5-1-0 Vote, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino voted No, Councilmember Urdy abstained) SELECTION OF CIVIC CENTER PROJECT MANAGER Council had before them for consideration a resolution to select a Civic Center Project Manager. Councilmember Shipman said she would abstain and left the Council Chamber. Motion Councilmember Carl-Mitchell made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Nofziger to adopt a resolution to select Faulkner as the Civic Center Project Manager. Substitute Motion - FAILED Councilmember Humphrey made a motion, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Trevino to adopt a resolution selecting Encore as Civic Center Project Manager. Motion FAILED by a vote of 3-3-0 with Mayor Cooksey, Councilmembers Carl-Mitchell and Nofziger voting NO, Councilmember Shipman abstained) Council Memo 2 Roll Call on Main Motion - 6/30/87 FAILED 3-3-0 Vote, Councilmember Urdy, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino and Councilmember Humphrey voted No, Councilmember Shipman abstained. Motion The Council, on Councilmember Humphrey's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, adopted a resolution selecting Gilbane as Civic Center Project Manager, subject to negotiations with staff on the price. (6-0 Vote, Councilmember Shipman abstained) EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooksey announced Council would enter into executive session, pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters.
