YOF AUSIT 104 104 Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: August 26, 1987 - 3:00 Ρ.Μ. Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the presence of all Councilmembers. WORKSESSION - OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET Council held a worksession on Operating and Capital Budget. Departments heard were General Service, Building Inspection, Environmental, and the Human Resources report on the Compensation Study. Department heads explained their budgets. Mayor Cooksey announced the worksession would continue on August 27, 1987 at 9:00 a.m. No report was presented on Residual Value Bond Program, and Council was told the report on AIDS would be presented on Tuesday, September 1, 1987. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooksey announced Council would enter into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No final action, decision or vote by the City Council will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for this meeting. 1. Pending Litigation Section 2, Paragraph e, a. City of Austin v. Houston Lighting and Power. Council recessed for executive session at 6:00 p.m. and resumed its recessed meeting at 6:30 p.m. - PUBLIC HEARING TR -. COMMUNITY EDUCATION Mayor Cooksey opened the public hearing set for 6 p.m. on Community Education. He had to leave the Chamber for a short time, so Councilmember Urdy took the chair for most of the hearing. Names of speakers are on file in the City Clerks office. ADJOURNMENT - Council adjourned its meeting at 8:45 p.m.
