아 AUSD Austin City Council MINUTES For EMERGENCY SPECIAL CALLED MEETING 1:00 Ρ.Μ. Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: - August 31, 1987 Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the presence of all Councilmembers. The Mayor announced the purpose of the meeting was to go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No final action, decision or vote by the City Council will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for this meeting. a. - Section 2, Paragraph e 1. Pending Litigation City of Austin v. Houston Lighting & Power Council recessed for executive session at 3:45 p.m. and resumed its recessed meeting at 4:15 p.m., at which time they adjourned its special called meeting i i Council Memo EXECUTIVE SESSION 2 8/31/87 Mayor Cooksey announced Council would go into Executive Session, pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of pending litigation. Nueva Vida - Section 2, Paragraph e ! Council recessed its meeting for executive session at 4:15 p.m. and resumed its recessed meeting at 4:34 p.m. BUDGET WORKSESSION - (CONTINUED) Council continued its budget worksession. Mayor Cooksey asked how many dollars can be added to the revenue after careful scrutiny. Virginia Rutledge, Finance Director, said they have found revenues of $626,165.00 which can be added into the budget from property tax, Southern Union Gas Company, CableVision and solicitation permits. Ms. Rutledge told Council that sales tax revenues are unstable and down 15% and are estimated to be down by $400,000 for the fiscal year 1987-88. Discussion continued and Councilmember Shipman asked how much money has been saved by closing the swimming pools one week early. She was told, by Mr. Jordan, Director of Parks and Recreaction Department, $45,000. ADJOURNMENT Council adjourned its meeting at 6:05 p.m.
