Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the presence of all Councilmembers. Mayor Cooksey said there were three people who wanted to speak concerning Community Bound. The speakers asked for funds so they can continue. They said without City of Austin funding, their service will have to discontinue. No action was taken by Council. PUBLIC HEARING - TAX RATE FOR FY 1987-88 Mayor Cooksey opened the public hearing set for 6:00 p.m. on the City of Austin Tax Rate for fiscal year 1987-88. 1 Registration cards for speakers at the hearing are on file in the City Clerk's office. Councilmember Shipman announced, at 6:50 p.m., she would be leaving the Council Chamber to attend a forum on consolidation of elections. Motion The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Urdy's second, closed the public hearing. 6-0 Vote, Councilmember Shipman absent. ITEM CONTINUED : Continued to September 24, 1987 is consideration of approval of a twelve month contract (RFP) with Personal Performance Consultants, for an Employee Assistance Program in the amount of $199,560.00. ADJOURNMENT Council adjourned its meeting at 8:07 p.m.
