FOURTH FLOOR AUDITORIUM Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Mayor Pro Tem Trevino, who entered later in the day, and Councilmember Urdy who was there for the executive session. BOARD & COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS The following board and commission appointments were made by Council. Motions The Council, on Councilmember Shipman's motion, Councilmember Humphrey's second, appointed Eva Wisser to the Airport Advisory Board. (5-0 Vote, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino and Councilmember Urdy absent) The Council, on Councilmember Humphrey's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, appointed George Villalva and Becky Reese-Duval as members of Design Commission Architectural Excellence. WORKSESSION - UPDATE ON CIVIC CENTER PROJECT BY GILBANE A worksession was held on Gilbane Update. It was decided by Council, on Councilmember Humphrey's suggestion, that when representatives of Gilbane present recommendations to Council which require a definite time frame, the decision to proceed will not be delayed because of the absence of any certain Councilmember or Councilmembers. The majority of the Councilmembers present have the right to approve or disapprove the scheduling at the time it is presented. Mayor Cooksey approved. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooksey announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No final decision or vote by the City Council will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for this meeting. 1.
