CENTRAL LIBRARY Mayor Cooksey called to order the meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Mayor Pro Tem Trevino and Councilmember Urdy. BOARD & COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS The Council, on Councilmember Humphrey's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, appointed Walter W. Brown as a member of the Planning Commission. (5-0 Vote, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino and Councilmember Urdy absent) The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Humphrey's second, appointed Karen Belton as a member of the Austin "150" Committee. (5-0 Vote, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino and Councilmember Urdy absent) ITEM CONTINUED Continued to January 14, 1988 is consideration of entering into an Interlocal Agreement with Travis County to provide for the consolidation of City and County jail facilities. AIRPORT ANNEXATION ISSUES Norman Standerfer and Karen Walz reported to Council concerning airport annexation issues. CIVIC CENTER DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, adopted a resolution approving the issuance of Request for Proposals to solicit Civic Center development proposals from landowners within the districts under consideration for site selection. (Recommended by Gilbane Building Company) CITY MANAGER REPORT OFFICE LEASING - A City Manager report was presented on office leasing Council Memo 1/12/88 availability and rates in the Central Business District. (Complete transcript is on file in the City Clerk's office.) CONTRACT POSTPONED The Council postponed to February 11, 1988 at 5:30 p.m. consideration of approval of a contract to Hayden Concrete Company for Capital Improvement Program construction of TSM improvements in North Lamar Boulevard corridor, on Councilmember Humphrey's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, 5-0 Vote, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino and Councilmember Urdy absent) EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooksey announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation, and for personnel matters.
