FOURTH FLOOR AUDITORIUM, CENTRAL LIBRARY Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the presence of all Councilmembers. REPORT POSTPONED The City Manager Report on Airport Request for Proposal was postponed to January 28, 1988. WATER UTILITY CONSTRUCTION FOR RELOCATION The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Urdy's second, adopted a resolution to approve of an escrow agreement between the City of Austin and the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation providing for water utility relocation construction associated with the Loop 1 South (Highway 290 Southwest to Slaughter Lane) Improvements. (5-0 Vote, Mayor Pro Tem Trevino abstained, Councilmember Humphrey out of the room) ARTS IN PUBLIC PLACES The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Humphrey's second, adopted a resolution to approve a grant application to the National Endowment for the Arts in Public Places Program for the Austin Civic Center Project. (7-0 Vote) NATIONAL HOUSING FORUM The Council, on Councilmember Shipman's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, waived the requirement for three readings and finally passed an ordinance to waive fees for a banner for the National Housing Forum. (7-0 Vote) WORKSESSIONS Council held a worksession with representatives of the Williamson County MUD #2. Council did not hold worksessions on City Manager Search, Council Memo 2 1/26/88 : Report from Alexander and Associates or Removal of Condition 16 on EPA Agreement. Board of Adjustment Liz Berezovytch, Floyd Clark and Richard Smith, on Mayor Pro Tem Trevino's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, 7-0 Vote. Building Standards Commission Charles Weinacht, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, 7-0 Vote. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooksey announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No final action, decision or vote by the City Council will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for this meeting. 1.
