FOUNDED Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING - - 5:30 Ρ.Μ. March 02, 1988 THIRD FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM- MUNICIPAL BUILDING Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooksey called to order the meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Mayor Pro Tem Trevino and Councilmember Humphrey. Mayor Cooksey called on James L. Mercer of Mercer/Slavin, Inc., who reviewed the list of the final 15 applicants for the City Manager position. Mr. Mercer stated that the list had been cut to five candidates. Three were currently employed as city managers and two were in private industry. Mr. Mercer indicated why the ten other applicants had been removed from consideration. Mr. Mercer responded to questions from the Council regarding the applicants. Sherri Allred, Director, Human Resources Department, commented on the schedule for Friday, March 4, 1988 and Saturday, March 5, 1988 regarding the interviewing of applicants. Council adjourned its meeting at 6:35 p.m.
