Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Pro Tem Trevino called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Mayor Cooksey. He announced the purpose of the meeting was to discuss items. pertaining to the Electric Utility. MONTHLY MANAGEMENT REPORT (FISCAL, OPERATIONS, FUEL) John Moore, Director, Electric Utility, presented the Monthly Management Report, (Fiscal Operations, Fuel). Albert Fairweather, chairperson, Electric Utility Commission, offered some remarks. CONTRACTS APPROVED The Council, on Councilmember Shipman's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, adopted a resolution approving the following contract: (6-0 Vote, Mayor Cooksey absent) WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC SUPPLY CO. P.O. Box 16528 Austin, Texas 78761 - Capital Improvements Program - Three transformers for Water and Wastewater Facilities, Electric Utility, Total $152,766.00 1 ----- The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Shipman's second, adopted a resolution approving the following contract: (6-0 Vote, Mayor Cooksey absent) HOLT CO. OF TEXAS P.O. Box 658 San Antonio, Texas 78293 HYDRILLA CONTROL - Capital Improvements Program Diesel Generator System for Decker Power Plant, Electric Utility, Total $230,000.00 The Council, on Councilmember Shipman's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, adopted a resolution approving an Interlocal ) Council Memo 2 6/14/88 Agreement between City of Austin/LCRA and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for Hydrilla Control at the Fayette Power Project Cooling Reservoir. The City of Austin costs would be $28,000.00. (6-0 Vote, Mayor Cooksey absent) CONSUMER ADVOCATE The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Shipman's second, adopted a resolution approving Amendment No. One to the contract with Jarilyn Dupont, Attorney at Law and Annette LoVoi, Consumer Consultant, Joint Venture, for the provision of additional services as the Consumer Advocate for the Electric Utility Rate Process in an amount not to exceed $18,480.00 and authorize the City Manager or his designee to negotiate and execute said contract amendment. (5-0 Vote, Councilmember Humphrey abstained, Mayor Cooksey absent) ITEM POSTPONED Postponed was consideration of a resolution to adopt the 1987-88 Energy Supply Plan. CITY MANAGER REPORTS John Ware, Acting City Manager, presented the report on IBM CoGeneration Issue, with Ed Adams from IBM making comments. John Moore, Director, Electric Utility, discussed Stand-by Service Issues. Laura Doll gave the City Manager Report on Summer 1988 Public Information Program. Report on Status of Future Generation Site was presented by John Moore. The report on Safety Training was not presented. ADJOURNMENT Council adjourned its meeting at 5:45 p.m.
