Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL JOINT MEETING - CITY OF AUSTIN/AISD - June 20, 1988 FOURTH FLOOR AUDITORIUM - CENTRAL LIBRARY - 2:30 P.M. Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Memorandum To: Mayor Cooke called to order the special joint meeting of the City of Austin/Austin Independent School District. He noted the presence of Mayor Pro Tern Shipman and Councilmembers Humphrey and Urdy Tax rates for the City of Austin and AISD were discussed. AISD would like to have a 0% increase. The City of Austin would like to havea 2*s% pay increase for city employee wages. Bussing was discussed with Dr. Ellis, Superintendent .of.Schools saying they have a $12.8-million budget for transportation. He said they have 450 busses and 25,000 students. Councilmember Humphrey discussed merging City busses into the school routes. Also discussed was the AISD bond election in 3 to 8 months and coordination of building permits. The next Joint meeting will be held on August 1, 1988 at 6100 N. Guadalupe, Carruth Administration Building, at 2:30 p.m. ยป The meeting was adjourned at 3:45 P.M.
