Austin City Council MINUTES For JOINT MEETING OF THE AUSTIN CITY COUNCIL & TRAVIS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT - COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT - July 25, 1988 8:00 Α.Μ. Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Mayor Cookec called the Council to order, noting the presence of Mayor Pro Tem Shipman and Councilmembers Carl-Mitchell and Urdy. Also present were County Judge Bill Aleshire and Commissioners Smell, Todd, Reed and Gonzales. Opening remarks were made by Judge Aleshire and Mayor Cooke. The Judge then signed a resolution creating the Joint Airport Zoning Board, and Mayor Cooke signed the ordinance creating the the Joint Airport Zoning Board. After the signing ceremony, remarks were made by each of the County Commissioners and Councilmembers. The Commissioners then proceeded to appoint Commissioner Jimmy Snell to a term expiring December 31, 1988 (Place 3) and Commissioner Bruce Todd to a term expiring December 31, 1990 (Place 4). Motion On Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Urdy's second, the Council appointed Mayor Pro Tem Shipman to a term expiring June 15, 1989 (Place 1) and State Representative Wilhelmina Delco to a term expiring June 15, 1991 (Place 2) (4-0 Vote, Councilmember Barnstone, Humphrey and Nofziger absent). ADJOURNMENT The Council adjourned its meeting at 11:20 A.M.
