こ - Y OF AUST Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING Council Chambers. 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas 9:00 Α.Π. August 03, 1988- Mayor Cooke called to order the special called meeting of the Council at 1:30 P.M., noting the presence of all Councilmembers. Mayor Cooke stated the purpose of the meeting was a worksession on the Operating Budget for 1988-89. Sarah Farley, Budget Director, and Susan Tully presented the revenue analysis. They reviewed projected property tax and sales tax revenues. Joe Canales presented a report on proposed lay-off of 271 employees. John Ware, Acting City Manager, presented the uncompensated care information concerning Brackenridge Hospital. Mayor Cooke then announced Council would begin hearing the budget statement from each City department. Building Safety: Mike Heits and Kathy Rodgers explained the budget for the Building Safety Department. Mayor Pro Ten Shipman requested cost figures for the south sub-station and asked for a legal opinion concerning re-negotiation of the lease. RECESS - Council recessed its meeting from 3:22 p.m. to 4:30 p.. to continue the other meeting scheduled for 9:00a.m. this date. MEETING RESUMED AND THEN ADJOURNED The meeting was resumed at 4:30p.m. with more of the budget worksession. Council adjourned its meeting at 5:00 p.m.
