Austin City Council MINUTES For August 12, 1988 - 1:00 P.M. - SPECIAL CALLED MEETING Council Chambers, 307 V*sl Second Street, Austin, Texas Mayor Cooke called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmember Carl-Mitchell and Mayor Pro Tern Shlpman. Mayor Cobke announced the purpose of the meeting was to hold a worksession on the Proposed Operating Budget for FY 1988-89. Four departments presented their budgets for the coming fiscal year. Hugh Standerfer and Tracy Watson reviewed the budget for Planning and Development Management, which included Office of Land Development Services, Planning and Growth Management, and Transportation and Public Services Department. Austin Llbrach represented the Environmental Protection Department. Representatives of Economic Development and International Trade discussed their budget. Police Chief Jim Everett led the budget discussion for the Police Department. The meeting of the Council was adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
