OF AUSTIN FOUNDED 1839 Austin City Council MINUTES For August 15, 1988 - 1:00 Ρ.Μ. - SPECIAL CALLED MEETING SOCIAL SERVICES FOR FY 1988-89 PUBLIC HEARING Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas 1 Mayor Cooke called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmember Urdy. Mayor Cooke announced the purpose of the meeting was to hold a public hearing on social service funding for FY 1988-89. Council heard requests from Cerebral Palsy Foundation, CEDEN, Austin Area of Retarded Citizens, ARCIL, MAP, MH/MR, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program, American Institute for Learning, Capital Area Food Bank, street people, Children's Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Travis County Refugee Service, University YWCA, Center for Battered Women, Austin Family House, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Volunteer Center, Travis County Adult Literacy Council, People's Community Clinic, Foundation for Texas Children, Ebenezer Child Development Center, Infant-Parent Training. : Motion The Council, on Mayor Pro Tem Shipman's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, closed the public hearing, 5-0 Vote, Councilmember Barnstone out of the room Councilmember Urdy absent. Council adjourned its meeting at 3:00 Ρ.Μ.
