Y OF AUSTI Austin City Council MINUTES For October 11, 1988 - 2:30 Ρ.Μ. Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Mayor Cooke called to order the meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmembers Urdy and Carl-Mitchell. ELECTRIC UTILITY COMMISSION REPORT Al Fairweather, chairman, Electric Utility Commission, presented their report. It is their belief that the City should continue the Cresap Audit. The first phase is complete and if followed, should save the City $2.5-million. Mr. Fairweather said the Commission recommends funding Phase II and III of the electric audit. Councilmember Nofziger said he agreed with the recommendation. Mayor Pro Tem Shipman also agreed and said she would put that request on a future agenda. CITY MANAGER REPORT John Moore, Director, Electric Utility, presented the City Manager Monthly Management Report (Fiscal, Operations, Fuel). RESOLUTIONS The Council, on Mayor Pro Tem Shipman's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, adopted resolutions approving the following contracts: (4-0 Vote, Councilmembers Urdy and Carl-Mitchell absent, Councilmember Humphrey out of the room) a. Power Supply of Austin, Inc. - Capital Improvements Project9804 Gray Blvd. Austin, Texas 78758 Transmission Line Conductor for Austrop to Decker 138 KV, West Loop Reconductor, Carson Creek to Grove 138 KV, Montopolis to Grove 138 KV (Sematech Electric Service and Interim Transmission Plan). Electric Utility - Total $1,354,730.83 Council Memo b. Southway Electric Supply 9705 Beck Austin, Texas 78758 c. I.W. Industries Division Houston, Texas 77224 2 10/11/88 Capital Improvements Project Transmission Line corona rings, suspension clamps and dampers for Austrop to Decker 138 KV. (Interim Transmission Plan). Electric Utility. Total $62,353.95. - Acid/Caustic Protection of Neutralization Pit, New Containment Structure, and Trench at the Decker Power Plant, Electric Utility. Total $42,967.00 EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooke announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No final action, decision or vote by the City Council will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for this meeting. 1.
