SPECIAL CALLED MEETING FOURTH FLOOR AUDITORIUM, CENTRAL LIBRARY Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas Mayor Cooke called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmember. Urdy. WORKSESSION Council held a worksession on Laguna Gloria Art Museum contract. They will continue their discussion on November15, 1988. AUSTIN CONVENTION & VISITOR BUREAU The Council on Councilmember Nofziger's motion, Councilmember Humphrey's second, passed through SECOND READING of anendments to Ordinance No. 861120-J, including an amendment to Part 2, relating to Austin Convention and Visitor Bureau Board of Directors. (4-1-0 Vote, Councilmember CarlMitchell voted No, Mayor Pro Ten Shipman out of the room, Councilmember Urdy absent.) PUBLIC HEARING SET The Council, on Councilmember Humphrey's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, set a public hearing on Electric Rates/Water and Wastewater Rates for Monday, November 7, 1988 at 3:00 Ρ.Μ. NO ACTION ON ITEM No-action was taken on a resolution to accept a proposal to acquire Austin's 16% interest in the South Texas Project. There were no bids. : ACTION FOR METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE The Council, on Councilmember Humphrey's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, made the following appointments to Council Memo 2 11/1/88 the Action of Metropolitan Government Committee: (5-0 Vote, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell out of the room, Councilmember Urdy absent) Barbara Hudson, John Houghton, Mary Negrete and Joan Lava EXECUTIVE SESSION .... RAILROAD SETTLEMENT The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Humphrey's second, accepted the litigation settlement re Burlington Northern Railroad Company and Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad "Company" v.
