AUSTI Austin City Council MINUTES For November 29, 1988 : Special Called Meeting Townlake Center of the Electric Department Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas - 3:00 Ρ.Μ. Mayor Cooke announced the discussion would begin concerning the Joint Metro Government Report at 3:20 P.M. Councilmembers in attendance at that time were the Mayor, Councilmember Humphrey and Councilmember Nofziger. At 3:28 P.M., Councilmember Barnstone entered the meeting and Mayor Cooke officially called the special called meeting of the Council to order. He noted the absence of Mayor Pro Tem Shipman and Councilmember Urdy and indicated Councilmember Carl-Mitchell would arrive later. Councilmember Carl-Mitchell arrived at 3:54 Ρ.Μ. JOINT METRO GOVERNMENT The Mayor, Councilmembers Humphrey, Nofziger and Barnstone held a discussion with Commissioner Bruce Todd and County Judge Bill Aleshire and several members of the Joint Metro Government Committee members. They approved a selection process for the chairperson and also approved future meetings of the Committee for January 12 and 17, 1989. They approved a joint meeting of the Council, Commissioner's Court and Joint Metro Government Committee for January 23, 1989 "150" COMMITTEE REPORT Mayor Frank Cooksey, chairman, "150 Committee" presented the report of that Committee and outlined the dates and events which will be observed in 1989. BRACKENRIDGE TRACT Tracy Watson, Director, Office of Land Development Services, presented a report during the worksession on the Brackenridge Tract. ITEM POSTPONED Postponed to December 1, 1988 is the selection of a legislative lobbyist. EXECUTIVE SESSION - Mayor Cooke announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No final action, decision or vote by the City Council will be 1 Council Memo 2 11/29/88 taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for this meeting. 1.
