OF AUSTU وزون Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING - January 03, 1989 - 2:00 Ρ.Μ. FOURTH FLOOR AUDITORIUM CENTRAL LIBRARY Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas : Mayor Cooke called to order the meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmembers Humphrey and Urdy. WORKSESSIONS Council held a worksession on the Austinplan. They also held a worksession on Legislative Strategies/Priorities and asked this be continued at the January 5, 1989 meeting to consider adoption of the plan. The third worksession was on Electric Utility Revenue Notes - Briefing. BUDGET AMENDMENT - ELECTRIC RATES The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, adopted a resolution to consider options for a budget amendment to implement City Council action regarding 1989 electric rates. (5-0 Vote, Councilmembers Humphrey and Urdy absent) NO ACTION ON ITEM No action was taken on the selection of expert witnesses for defending the City's rate action at the Public Utility Commission of Texas. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Cooke announced Council would go into executive session pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and for personnel matters. No final action, decision or vote by the City Council will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for the meeting. 1. Pending Litigation - Section 2, Paragraph e (b) ETSI Pipeline Project, et al. vs. Burlington Northern, Inc., et al., C.A. No. B-84-979-CA 2. Personnel Matters - Section 2, Paragraph g (a) City Manager Interviews/Selection : Council Memo RECESS 2 Council recessed for executive session. ETSI PIPELINE PROJECT 1/3/89 As a result of discussion during the executive session, Mayor Cooke announced action would be taken on an item under pending litigation. Motion The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Barnstone's second, approved settlement for ETSI Pipeline Project, et al. vs. Burlington Northern, Inc., et al., C.A. No. B-84-979-CA. (5-0 Vote, Councilmembers Humphrey and Urdy absent) ADJOURNMENT Council adjourned its meeting at 6:25 Ρ.Μ.
