Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING - February 16, 1989 - 8:30 A.M Council Chambers, 307 V\tst Second Street, Austin. Texas Mayor Cooke called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the presence of all Councilmembers. The Mayor announced the purpose of the meeting was to go into Executive Session, pursuant to Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation, and for personnel matters. No final action, decision or vote by the City Council will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for this meeting. 1. Personnel Matters - Section 2, Paragraph g (a) City Manager Search Council recessed their meeting for executive session at 8:57 A.M. and resumed its recessed meeting at 12:20 P.M. CITY MANAGER APPOINTED The Council, on Mayor Pro Tern Shipman's motion, Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's second, appointed Dr. Camille Gates Barnett as City Manager of Austin, Texas, beginning March 20, 1989. (7-0 Vote). ADJOURNMENT After answering questions from the news media, Council adjourned its meeting at 12:30 P.M.
