Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING - March 28, 1989 - 2:00 P.M. Council Chamber*, 307 Vdfcl Second Street, Amtin. TexM Mayor Pro Tern Shipman called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Mayor Cooke, Councilmembers Urdy and Barnstone. The time was 3:00 P.M. Mayor Cooke entered at 3:30 P.M. and Councilmember Barnstone entered at 3:15 P.M. WORKSESSION ITEMS The Council, on Councilmember Carl-Mitchell's motion, Councilmember Humphrey's second, approved the new City of Austin Airport land acquisition process as presented by Paul Watson. (4-0 Vote* Councilmember* Barnstone and Urdy and Mayor Cooke absent) Mary Arnold, chairperson, Planning Commission, reported on the convention center and said they recommend an east side site. Gwenn Webb presented a Legislative Update. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 4:02 P.M.
