KOUSTI FOUNDED 1920 i Austin City Council MINUTES For SPECIAL CALLED MEETING Council Chambers, 307 West Second Street, Austin, Texas - August 15, 1989 - 6:00 Ρ.Μ. Mayor Cooke called to order the meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmember Urdy. Mayor Cooke announced the purpose of the meeting was to hold a public hearing on the arts funding for 1989-90. PUBLIC HEARING - ARTS FUNDING Mayor Cooke opened the public hearing on arts funding for 1989-90. Speaker's cards are on file in the City Clerk's office. Motion The Council, on Councilmember Barnstone's motion, Councilmember Nofziger's second, closed the public hearing. (6-0 Vote, Councilmember Urdy absent.) Motion The Council, on Councilmember Nofziger's motion, Mayor Pro Tem Shipman's second, voted to refer the arts funding suggestions back to the Arts Commission and directed the Arts Commission to come back to Council with their recommendations prior to the approval of the 1989-90 FY budget. (6-0 Vote, Councilmember Urdy absent.) ADJOURNMENT Council adjourned its meeting at 9:30 Ρ.Μ.
