Austin City Council MINUTES For August 27, 1990 - SPECIAL CALLED MEETING ROSEWOOD RECREATION CENTER - 6s30 P.M. - PUBLIC HEARING 1990-91 BUDGET Mayor Cooke called to order the meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmembers Carl-Mitchell and Barnstone. The Mayor announced the purpose of the meeting vas to hold a public hearing on the 1990-91 Operating Budget. Speaker's cards are on file in the City Clerk's office. Subjects discussed were: Child and Family Services, Hope Program, Austin Rape Crisis Project, health care programs, teenage parents, issues relating to women and children, senior citizen programs, don't cut taxes, Carver Museum, The Old Bakery, community education, child care programs, utility bills, customer services, condition of streets in East Austin, keeping libraries open, youth programs, Capital Improvement Projects, keeping Tovn Lake clean, keeping parks in good condition, cultural interests, and a thank you to Council for the dental program. The meeting vas adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
