FOUNDIO 1880 Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL CALLED MEETING - January 29, 1992 WORKSESSION - TOWN LAKE CENTER - 1:30 P.Μ. Mayor Todd called to order the Special Called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Councilmember Garcia. The Mayor announced the purpose of the meeting was to hold a worksession. WORKSESSION 1. Briefing on Bond Election Bill Stockton, Director of Transportation and Public Services, briefed the Council on the proposed bond election. He said the needs of the City have changed since the 1984 bond election and that money needs to be spent for flood controls and street improvements. Mr. Stockton advised that the City abandon all low priority projects and transfer the money into high priority projects. A copy of his presentation is on file in the City Clerk's office. Mr. Stockton told Council the review process would go through Boards and Commissions for their recommendations and that there will be public hearings so Council will have as much input about the bond election as possible. Becky Gadell, Public Information Officer, presented a proposed bond election public education program to Council. A copy is on file in the City Clerk's office. She suggested there be Ch. 6 call-in shows, pamphlets, news media, radio, information booths and hot lines, as well as other information activities that can be manned by City staff. Council agreed that & Resolution will be put on a future agenda concerning options for the bond election. ADJOURNMENT Council adjourned its meeting at 3:25 Ρ.Μ. MINUTES 1 1/29/92 : C :
